This presentation explores Dr. Diop's research examining how parent-child interactions support the language abilities of Wolof-learning toddlers in Senegal and the cultural beliefs about parenting among Senegalese caregivers. It also presents an overview of his current work on home literacy environments and school performance and his future study on parenting and acculturation among the African immigrant population in the U.S.
