Welcome to Lehigh’s graduate program in English. Our Master’s and Doctoral programs seek to promote the academic, personal, and professional growth of our students, helping to prepare them for a range of future roles as writers, researchers, educators, and leaders–both in the academy and beyond.

Our graduate program is especially distinctive for its commitment to offering a complete funding package to all admitted full-time students at both the M.A. and Ph.D. levels. This covers:
- Tuition remission (i.e. all tuition costs are covered by the university)
- An additional stipend of $25,000-$26,000 a year (as of 2023)
Graduate student funding is secured through teaching fellowships. This means that most students teach one section of first-year composition per semester. Students are guided through their teaching via a pedagogy seminar and practicum in their first year, followed by ongoing mentorship from dedicated writing faculty.
