"Race-ing Justice, Engendering Power" Discussion

Thursday, January 31, 2019 - 12:00pm
Location:
Drown Hall Room TBA

On Thurs Jan. 31 at noon in Drown Hall  (room TBA), the LSJ committee will also host an English Department discussion of the groundbreaking book, Race-ing Justice, Engendering Power, which collected essays about Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas by distinguished feminist and anti-racist scholars, including Toni Morrison, Nellie McKay and KimberlĂ© Crenshaw.    This reading group discussion will provide an opportunity for us to consider what novelists, literary critics and critical race theorists can contribute distinctively to movements for racial and gender equality in the #me too and #black lives matter era.  We will circulate readings next week.
